This month Pakistan made history by approving the landmark bill for transgender people. According to Thomson Reuters Foundation News the bill became law when acting president Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani formally agreed. A big hand of applause to all activists who made this wonderful progress happen, and to all those who have struggled and fought in all the cities of Pakistan.

Of course, we have ways to go. Just days before our parliament passed the new bill, a transgender woman was murdered in Peshawar, the fourth such killing this year according to local rights activists.

We must continue the fight. United we win!
